Properties

Ceramic grinding media primarily includes alumina ceramic balls, zirconia ceramic balls, silicon carbide ceramic balls, and silicon nitride ceramic balls. Among these, alumina and zirconia ceramic balls are the most widely used. Zirconia ceramic grinding media is made from zirconia powder, which is formed either by droplet formation or pressing. The hardness of zirconia is comparable to that of alumina, both rated at Mohs 9, but zirconia has significantly higher toughness. It is ideal for high-energy-density grinding machines, such as vertical and horizontal bead mills. Due to its higher density and excellent surface finish, zirconia ceramic balls are particularly well-suited for grinding high-quality raw materials.

Grinding media is an indispensable auxiliary material in ceramic production, playing a crucial role in improving grinding efficiency and the quality of the final product.
