Zirconia ceramic is an advanced high-tech ceramic material and one of the ideal appearance materials for communication devices and wearable devices. In recent years, the development of zirconia ceramic has revealed its significant potential in the fingerprint recognition market. However, due to the small size of fingerprint modules and their complex application environments, combined with high demands for recognition sensitivity and speed, stringent requirements are placed on fingerprint recognition chips and surface protective materials. Currently, sapphire is the mainstream material for fingerprint recognition cover plates, but it has drawbacks such as high cost and limited impact resistance. In comparison, zirconia ceramic has a dielectric constant three times that of sapphire, allowing thicker designs under the same sensitivity conditions, which significantly enhances impact resistance. More importantly, the total cost of zirconia ceramic is only one-fourth that of sapphire, making it increasingly favored by consumer electronics manufacturers.
